Najimi Kimbap: Korean Food in Osaka’s Namba District
Namba is the beating heart of Osaka, packed with things to see and an endless choice of places to eat. Japanese food generally suits Korean palates, but for Koreans accustomed to bold heat and deeply warming flavors, the craving for something spicy can become even stronger when traveling abroad.
That’s when a Korean restaurant is exactly what you need.
That’s why I’m recommending Najimi Kimbap, a Korean restaurant I discovered on my way to Namba Yasaka Shrine.
📌 Najimi Kimbap (ナジミキンパ): Restaurant Information
Here is the basic information listed on the official Najimi Kimbap website for this restaurant near Namba Station in Osaka.
- Location: 2-2-6 Motomachi, Naniwa-ku, Osaka (about a seven-minute walk from Namba Station)
- Hours: Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
- What makes it notable: Run by a Korean owner and chef, the restaurant recreates the spicy, punchy flavors of Korea. Popular dishes include kimchi jjigae, soft tofu stew, spicy stir-fried pork, and jjukumi samgyeopsal—baby octopus with pork belly. Vaping is permitted, and all-you-can-eat and drink courses are also available.

Najimi Kimbap Delivers on Flavor
When traveling abroad, it’s easy to arrive at a Korean restaurant with modest expectations—and end up rating it more generously than you would at home.
Finding a truly good Korean restaurant overseas can be difficult.
I once visited a restaurant in Kyoto that called itself Korean, only to discover that it was run by Japanese staff. It was essentially a restaurant imitating Korean cuisine—the same way we might open an Italian restaurant without being Italian. And, as you’d expect, a copy rarely matches the original.
Najimi Kimbap, by contrast, is run by a Korean owner. He appears to be quite young, but his cooking is more than solid—arguably excellent.
The nakji bibimbap I ordered had exactly the right balance of heat and spice, with a wonderfully peppery kick. I left feeling thoroughly satisfied.

Practical Tips for Visiting
- A convenient stop before or after the Rapi:t
The restaurant is within walking distance of Nankai Namba Station, where you catch the Rapi:t to Kansai International Airport. That makes it a particularly convenient place to eat after arriving on the first day of your trip or just before departing on the last day, after leaving your luggage at a nearby storage facility. - Bold, familiar Korean flavors
According to Google and local reviews, some dishes lean slightly sweet and salty or may be on the oily side to suit Japanese tastes. However, dishes such as the Shin Ramyun and Buldak sets, along with the stews, deliver the distinctive spicy kick of Korean food and are ideal for cutting through richer flavors. - Ideal for late-night and early-morning meals
While many Osaka restaurants close early, this one is open 24 hours. You can drop in whenever you’re craving a late-night meal or need breakfast before an early start.

Why I Recommend Najimi Kimbap in Osaka
As I explored the Namba area of Osaka, I noticed quite a few Korean restaurants scattered around the neighborhood. I may write about some of the others in a future post.
I hope you have a wonderful trip to Osaka.
Thank you.
