A Café Inspired by Kiki’s Delivery Service
Koriko Café Jeju is an atmospheric café themed around the world of Kiki’s Delivery Service, the beloved Studio Ghibli film.
You’ve probably seen it at least once—the story of Kiki and her adorable black cat, Jiji.
Koriko Café brings the mood and magic of that film to life.
You know the feeling: the kind of place you simply have to visit at least once when you come to Jeju.
It is also the sort of spot where visitors pick up the brooms placed beside the main entrance and pose for photos.
The broom in the photo below is the one causing all the excitement.
Inside, Kiki-themed props and decorative details appear throughout the café.

As you wander through the space, the Ghibli soundtrack playing in the background can make you feel as if you have stepped right into the film.
What’s especially amusing is that Jiji the cat seems to take center stage even more than Kiki.
At Koriko, Jiji appears to be the star.

Located near the Songdang Fairy Tale Village, Koriko Café is well known as a photo spot in its own right, while the surrounding area also offers plenty of excellent places for photography.

The drinks menu includes teas, lattes and seasonal specials, with many options designed to make a visual impression.
Desserts are relatively simple, including scones, pound cake and cookies, with themed packaging adding a distinctive touch.
The merchandise comes in a range of forms, including postcards, ribbons, small accessories and souvenir cup holders. The selection changes with the seasons.

The real dilemma, however, is figuring out how anyone can bring themselves to dig into those adorable Jiji and Lily designs.
They look far too cute to destroy… 😢
I don’t think I could manage it, so I simply ordered milk tea instead.

The Atmosphere at Koriko Café
The interior combines Japanese-inspired décor with props that evoke the world of Kiki’s Delivery Service.
Certain features—such as the broom-shaped photo zone and decorations using Kiki’s signature red ribbon—serve as major draws for visitors.
The lighting is warm throughout, helping people and props stand out in photos. Nearly every corner of the café can be used as a backdrop.
The space is packed with all kinds of charming details. For film fans like me, it feels like heaven.
Those unfamiliar with the movie, however, might simply see it as something resembling a doll shop.
The Real Star of the Show
You’ve been looking at photo after photo, but there is no denying that Jiji plays the decisive role at this café.
Kiki may be the important one in the film, but here, it’s Jiji. Haha.
That is part of the fun, too. The café invites you to imagine Kiki and Jiji back into existence.
After visiting a beautiful café like this, I always hope ordinary cafés won’t start to feel dull. But, to be honest, that hasn’t really worked out.
After Visiting Koriko Café
Jeju has plenty of interesting attractions, but in that sense, this café gave me an extra measure of enjoyment.
There is no reason to reject everything simply because it comes from Japanese culture.
If there are things worth learning from, we should learn from them—and the imagination found in Japanese animation is certainly something to admire.
Korean animation has come a long way as well, but I feel it may still need more time to achieve the kind of influence Studio Ghibli has.
