After enjoying the Nanta performance, I found myself craving something hot and spicy at around 7 p.m. That was when I came across this restaurant.
It is a neighborhood-style branch tucked inside a residential area in Ara-dong, Jeju-si—and places like this often turn out to be surprisingly good.
The menu focuses on soft tofu stews and other jjigae, with stone-pot rice and scorched rice tea served as a house specialty.
The restaurant is quiet and easy to reach, and is said to be popular with students, office workers, and families.
There is a public parking lot close to the restaurant.

The moment I walked in, the lively atmosphere seemed to be saying, “I’m a great local restaurant.”
What is this place known for?
Seafood soft tofu stew, clam soft tofu stew, oyster soft tofu stew, and beef brisket soft tofu stew, with a choice of spicy or mild broth
Basic side dishes, including tofu kimchi, are served.
Since this is a restaurant specializing in soft tofu stew, there is no need to overthink the menu. The main question is simply which combination sounds best.
After watching what the other diners were ordering, the beef brisket option was clearly the most popular. So I decided to try it too: beef brisket soft tofu stew.
Most dishes start at 10,000 won.

Cleanliness is one of this restaurant’s biggest strengths

As you can see, this is the dining area.
Before the food arrived, I looked around the restaurant, and the first thing I liked was how clean and well-kept it felt. The layout seemed thoughtfully arranged, with plenty of space between tables.
More importantly, the quality of a restaurant’s food can often be anticipated from its side dishes alone. Here, that same sense of cleanliness was evident in the presentation of the banchan.
Additional side dishes are available from a self-service station.
The side dishes were so good that I went back for another serving.

Highly recommended: Ilpum Sundubu Ara
As you probably know, Lux travels extensively and has visited plenty of restaurants.
I do not usually go out of my way to praise franchise restaurants.
That is partly because they tend to offer an average, standardized level of food, without much that makes them distinctive.
But this place is impossible not to praise.
The restaurant was lively, and the overall atmosphere was excellent. There seemed to be plenty of customers who trusted the place and made a point of stopping by.
Above all, the soft tofu stew was genuinely outstanding. I may have been especially hungry, but the stew here had a particularly refreshing, clean finish.
If you are visiting Jeju for a Nanta performance, or happen to be passing nearby, I highly recommend stopping in.
Thank you.
