Aloft Taipei Beitou: A Great Hotel Choice in Taiwan

Aloft Taipei Beitou: A Great Hotel Choice in Taiwan

Aloft Taipei Beitou

Aloft Taipei Beitou is a four-star hotel that captures the modern, energetic spirit of Marriott International’s Aloft brand.

Set in Beitou, a traditional hot-spring town, the hotel combines the area’s natural appeal with Aloft’s signature urban-chic style. The overall look and feel is distinctly modern.

With its convenient location and practical amenities, it is a solid option for young travelers, business guests and families alike.

It is marketed as a four-star hotel, although my impression was somewhat mixed—some aspects certainly lived up to that rating, while others left room for debate.

I stayed here at the end of December 2025, around the turn of the year, and decided to share this review because the hotel was satisfactory in terms of both cleanliness and location. ^^

Here is what the hotel looks like from the outside. It is an unremarkable building with no particularly distinctive features—fairly typical of a value-oriented hotel.

As you might expect, hotels like this do not spend heavily on exterior design. The priority is to invest in the interior and the guest experience.

1. Hotel Overview and Concept

Aloft Taipei Beitou makes a strong first impression with its high ceilings, colorful neon lighting and lively music playing in the lobby.

The hotel is said to offer views of Beitou’s natural surroundings, including Guandu Plain, as well as the city skyline. However, the view depends on the direction your room faces, so not every room offers the same outlook.

Works by local artists are displayed throughout the hotel, giving guests plenty of interesting details to discover.

2. Location and Transport

The hotel is somewhat removed from central Taipei, but it is exceptionally convenient for public transportation, with easy access to the MRT.

Aloft Taipei Beitou official website

Address: No. 1, Lane 300, Daye Road, Beitou District, Taipei 11268, Taiwan, China

MRT access: The hotel is approximately a five- to 10-minute walk from either Beitou Station or Qiyan Station on the Red Line, also known as the Tamsui-Xinyi Line.

It takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes by MRT to reach Taipei Main Station.

Airport access: The drive from Taoyuan International Airport takes about 45 minutes, while Songshan Airport is approximately 20 to 30 minutes away by car.

Surroundings: There is a Starbucks on the ground floor of the hotel, and the surrounding area has plenty of local restaurants and convenience stores.

The rooms are fairly standard, but clean and well maintained.

As you may know, Taiwan uses 110-volt outlets, which can feel a little loose with some plugs. That is not really the hotel’s fault, of course.

Experiences like this make you realize how advanced South Korea is in many ways. People there tend to replace or improve things quickly whenever something is inconvenient.

You notice the difference even more when traveling abroad.

It can be frustrating to see people elsewhere simply putting up with inconveniences that could easily be fixed. Perhaps that reaction reflects how strongly Koreans value moving forward and staying ahead.

Let’s take a look at the bathroom.

The bathroom is clean, the water pressure is good, and the generous amount of space makes it quite comfortable.

Taiwan is known for having good-quality water.

In fact, the water quality across Taiwan is said to be so good that the entire island could almost be considered a hot-spring region. After taking a bath here, I can understand why people say that.

3. Room Details and Features

The hotel has 292 nonsmoking rooms, all featuring a modern, minimalist design.

Room types: Options include Aloft King and Twin rooms, Savvy Rooms, and suites offering additional space.

Views: Many rooms offer expansive views of Guandu Plain, which is especially beautiful at sunset.

Amenities: Room amenities include the signature bed with a Simmons mattress, a 43-inch LCD TV, universal power outlets and complimentary Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are stocked with Bliss® Spa products.

Family-friendly services: Families traveling with children can request a small in-room tent, a crib or bed rails in advance.

4. What Is Breakfast Like? Facilities and Services

The hotel operates several facilities with distinctive names associated with the Aloft brand.

W XYZ® Bar: This is the social hub of the hotel, where guests can enjoy signature cocktails and live performances through the Live At Aloft Hotels program.

Its relaxed atmosphere makes it a pleasant place for guests to socialize.

Nook restaurant: Nook serves a breakfast buffet as well as à la carte dishes.

The terrace is pet-friendly, which is a major advantage for guests traveling with their animals.

Re:fuelSM by Aloft: This is a 24-hour self-service snack bar.

Guests can purchase drinks, light meals and healthy snacks at any time.

Re:chargeSM Gym: The 24-hour fitness center allows guests to work out while enjoying views across Guandu Plain.

Laundry facilities: A coin-operated laundry room is available, making the hotel convenient for longer stays.

5. Nearby Attractions

Many of Beitou’s main attractions can be reached on foot or with a short ride.

Beitou Hot Spring Museum and Thermal Valley: Located about five minutes away by car, these attractions offer an introduction to the heart of Taiwan’s hot-spring culture.

Nung Chan Monastery: The nearby Shuiyue Daochang is well known as an Instagram spot and is a peaceful place for a stroll.

Yangmingshan National Park: An ideal destination for travelers who want to experience nature, it is easily accessible by public transportation or taxi.

Shilin Night Market: Just a few MRT stops away, Taipei’s largest night market offers an easy taste of the city’s famous street-food culture.

6. Useful Tips for Your Stay (Pros & Cons)

Pros:

It offers excellent value for a Marriott-affiliated hotel.

The rooms are highly clean, and the staff speak English fluently, making communication easy.

It is a pet-friendly hotel.

Cons:

Despite being located in a hot-spring area, the hotel does not have its own hot-spring bathing facilities. To enjoy a hot spring, guests need to use the public baths at a nearby hot-spring hotel.

Getting to central areas such as Ximending and Taipei 101 can take some time.

Aloft Taipei Beitou is an excellent choice for travelers who want the service and polished feel of a global hotel chain at a reasonable price.

It is especially recommended for anyone who wants to step away from the bustle of central Taipei, relax and enjoy peaceful views.

Key Factors When Choosing a Hotel in Taiwan

Wherever you travel, a hotel’s location, price and cleanliness are what matter most.

Considering that prices in Taiwan are broadly comparable to those in South Korea, Aloft Taipei Beitou offers a reasonable level of value.

During my stay, I found the hotel convenient in a number of ways. Breakfast was a particular highlight.

As the photos above show, there was a wide variety of food available, making it easy to start the day with a satisfying meal.

If you are looking for a hotel in Taiwan, I recommend giving this one a try.
