But the Out and In courses differ in length by more than 300 meters, while subtle green contours and elevated putting surfaces demand precise club selection.

At 2,982 meters, the Out Course is relatively short, giving long hitters a chance to pick up strokes. The positioning of trees and bunkers, however, is highly strategic.

• Hole 1 (Par 4): The standard play is to aim the opening tee shot directly toward the left green. The area behind the right green is tight, and a shot that leaks right has a high risk of finding the penalty area (OB).

It is said to be the burial site of a woman from the Andong Kwon clan. Caddies have an amusing story that, strangely enough, shots rarely travel in that direction. Although the hole is a par 4, reaching the green with the second shot is not easy. I remember it as the course’s No. 1 handicap hole.
