A Sound Judgment by a South Korean Court: Yoon Suk Yeol Found to Have Acted in the Enemy’s Interests
What Does It Mean to Act in the Enemy’s Interests?
Acting in the enemy’s interests means exactly what the Chinese characters suggest: “benefiting the enemy and, in doing so, harming one’s own country or organization.” In other words, Yoon Suk Yeol is being called someone who harmed his own country.
And it is true. Did he not put the country at risk in an attempt to make himself king and rule for life?
Did he send drones into North Korea as a hobby? Did he deliberately ratchet up tensions along the armistice line just for fun?
Everyone knows that he was trying by any means necessary to push the country toward war, then use martial law to make himself king in the confusion. It is laughable to watch you alone continue to deny everything and pretend you knew nothing.
All the wrongdoing was done by your subordinates, and you knew nothing? The fact that such a disgraceful man was once president of South Korea is utterly humiliating. Why the shame should fall on the people is beyond me.
The court got it right. I respect and support the court for carefully examining the enemy collaborator’s past actions and delivering the proper verdict.
What, Exactly, Is the Defense Team There For?
What I find most puzzling is whether these lawyers have become trapped in some kind of collective face-saving exercise, or whether they are true followers who genuinely believe Yoon Suk Yeol is spotless and has committed no crime.
There are simply too many things that do not add up for money to be the only explanation.
People may defend a heinous murderer for money, but I doubt their consciences would be entirely at ease. I simply cannot understand these people. What do you think?
Yoon Suk Yeol was not a president who worked for the people; he was a president who worked for himself. (Or perhaps he was working for Kim Keon Hee….)
Now that the matter will be settled with either a life sentence or the death penalty, and he will no longer be able to harm this country, I consider that a relief.
Good riddance, Seok-yeol. It wasn’t fun, and it was a complete damn mess.
